Teachings From Cordy Fitzgerald Writings

By Shirley Butler

Writing is a very important professional in human life. Authors use the art of writing as a masterpiece in talking essential issues in the society. Cordy Fitzgerald is a great novelist whose work has a significant impact on the general community. However, the writer has an excellent book called Great Gatsby. Below are some of the lessons we derive from this book.

We cannot be able to overcome any situation in our lives if we are not hopeful. Apparently, hope helps us to remain focused on our goals. That is why the author is insisting on being optimistic. If you read the novel carefully, you realize that the better part of it is on remaining optimistic. Thus, avoid any distractions that come your way and always stay focused.

Another critical lesson that you need to know is that money cannot buy love. Neither can it buy you, friends. In the book, we find Gatsby who attempts to woo daisy to a lavish lifestyle and a good home. However, the whole attempt fails miserably. Apparently, Gatsby had so many resources which could have bought love easily. However, that is not easy because love cannot be purchased at any price.

As much as people are advised to forget their past, it is not an easy task. It takes a lot of courage for a person to remember everything that happened in their life. It is a messy thing to escape. In the book, there is Gatsby who tries to shrink a lousy reputation as a bootlegger. However, it is not that easy, and it proves to be one of the most challenging things.

It is also not good to be always the first person to critique others. You may also find yourself in a situation that may face criticism. At the beginning of the book, there is Nick who professes the inability to critique anyone. In fact, the first person you are supposed to criticize is yourself. The best thing is to remain open-minded.

Another aspect that comes from the book is that physical beauty is fickle and fleeting. That lesson is brought out apparently by the character Daisy. From the time is brought out form the novel, she seems more like a beautiful caricature of herself more than an actual person. She flirts and wins the heart of later leaves the man in the dust. Beauty can confuse you into making wrong decisions.

It is not useful for you to assume anything no matter how small you think it is. Ignorance may end up landing you with significant problems. Were it not for assumptions, the story of Fitzgerald could not have ended to that severe mess. So many things could have been avoided easily.

The final lesson forms that novel that unbridled love can sometimes be dangerous. When you are starting the relationship, everything could be running smoothly. However, when a problem arises, the relationship can even up in violence which is not useful in any way. Thus, whenever you are in love, ensure your relationship is healthy.
